Migration v1 to v2

Should I migrate to v2?

Yes, all isomer sites are slated to be migrated to v2 by the end of 2021. If you have concerns over this timeline, let us know in advance.

Why should I migrate?

We're launching IsomerCMS sometime in the mid of 2021, and only sites on v2 are able to use the CMS.

What should I expect?

Key things to note:

  1. Schedule a migration day with the Isomer team. It typically takes 1-2 days (depending on the number of sites).

  2. During migration day. Please do not make any changes to your site as the Isomer team will be making a snapshot of your site content to be migrated onto version 2.

IF you happen to make changes during migration day, your new changes will be lost after the migration.

Will my site be down?

No, your site will remain up during the migration period.

Do I have to back up my old sites?

What are the differences between v1 and v2?

There are a few key differences between v1 and v2:

  1. Homepage : you'll find your homepage on index.md on v2

  2. Contact us: you'll find your contact us page in pages folder, with the file name contact-us.md

No, Github keeps all records of changes made on the site so there is no need to back up your site. If you still like to keep a copy of your site, you can read our

Resources: for some of you, your resources naming convention may also been updated, you can refer to for more information.
